What is SkillGround?

SkillGround is the world’s most rewarding online gaming arena where you can download real video games for free and play in a secure and fair environment for cash prizes or just for fun. People of all skill levels are welcome, and our proprietary skill ranking system ensures you will always find your match. All you need is a PC and a broadband connection to play. You can play for free for as long as you want on SkillGround, and with a Premium account you can ALSO play for real cash prizes. SkillGround is committed to offering great game play experiences to our players and will be adding new games, maps, and game play modes regularly.  No matter what type of games you like, or what your level of ability, SkillGround has a game, and a match, for you!

How do I Begin Playing?

You must be running Windows (Vista, XP, or 2000) on your computer, along with a Broadband Internet connection in order to play on SkillGround. You must also use either Internet Explorer (6.0 or above) or Mozilla Firefox (1.5 or above) as your browser.

To begin playing, simply complete the following steps:

• Register for a SkillGround Account. You will be prompted to register (or sign in) when you click "Register Now" or try to access information available only to logged in users.
• After registration is complete, if you did not begin the registration process from a Game page, you will need to select the game you wish to begin playing. Otherwise, the SkillGround Game Manager will automatically launch to allow you to install your chosen game. You will be able to download all our other games later.
• Validate your email address. Enter the 4 digit code sent to your email address. You can skip this process for the first 72 hours from the time of registration. After this time, email validation will become mandatory.
• From the Game page, enter the lobby by selecting a game mode, and start playing!

To play for cash, you may upgrade to a Premium Account / Player’s Club Account at any time by completing the form and making a deposit.

SkillGround games can only be played using broadband. Make sure you have a DSL, Cable, or a faster Internet connection.

Fair Play & Security

Fair Play and Security are the two most important virtues here at SkillGround. There are a number of measures in place to ensure that ALL players are treated fairly and that accounts are ALWAYS kept secure. SkillGround’s team continues to work very hard to ensure that there is no cheating, no corruption, and that everyone plays fairly.  The following is a list of some of the measures in place to protect players:

• Communication between games and SkillGround’s servers are encrypted.
• SkillGround keeps a record of all games and can recreate any game in question.
• Before the game is launched, SkillGround Game Manager will automatically repair or update files to ensure that all players are playing the same up-to-date version of the game.
• Cheat codes are disabled in all of the games offered on the SkillGround site.
• The Skill Rating system helps to match players of similar skill.
• Displaying each user’s ping time allows players to avoid matches with other players who have a significant advantage in connection speed.
• Before and during the game, the Game Manager runs extensive memory scans to identify applications that are trying to alter the games in any way.
• When the game is running, the Game Manager has the ability to take screenshots and send them to SkillGround’s Customer Care Representatives for analysis.
• Computer fingerprinting technology allows SkillGround to permanently ban cheating players.
• Our compliance applications are constantly sifting through game results looking for behavioral patterns that indicate unfair play, collusion, and other types of behavior prohibited by our Code of Conduct.

Each game on SkillGround offers different modes of play as follows:
